This also gave me an excuse to mess around with a coloring style I’ve been wanting to try for a while now. I really like the look of only ‘partially’ filling in a piece, and letting the paper texture/color define the light source. I’ve seen this used a lot for more painterly pieces, but it looks pretty neat like this too!

In my schedule I have specific days designated for tasks- thumbnailing days, inking days, etc. I’ve started putting a general purpose illustration day on there so I can work on… actually finishing illustrations. My particular problem is that I start something, have to go work on a deadline, come back in a month, hate what I’ve worked on, start over, etc etc etc. Hopefully this’ll fix that…?
Two wips today, one under the cut as it’s super NSFW.
I’m going to flip the background in this one so the shower is coming from the left side and the corner of the stall is in the right… one of the downsides of constantly flipping work is you can really bungle composition if you aren’t paying attention.
EDIT: note to self, change hair to dreads or thicker curls, that’s way more visually interesting.
Completed this today and sent off an email for a quote for foil printing- it’d be nice to do a giveaway y’all on here if I can get them for a good price. :0 !
Starting things off here with a sketchbook- some of the sketches in here previous Bara Emergency subscribers may recognize, some of it is new. It was originally put together for ECCC earlier this year but I didn’t end up printing it due to time constraints. So here it lives for now!
