Shhhh!
Finished thumbnailing the FMR pages today- it turns out it’s completely possible to thumbnail ~40 pages in 3 days if you have a solid outline. Wild, right? Almost like planning is important or something.
Covers are evidently a large part of their online promo, so I sketched out a few for them to look at. I’m attached to #2, but I’m assuming they’ll go for #4, #6 or #8? We’ll see!
Filthy Figments has been open for submissions for a little bit, so I pulled together a pitch I’ve been wanting to something with for a while, mostly because 1) I love the name, as someone who’s very bad at naming things, and 2) I really wish Run With The Wind had been way gayer. I’ve only read bits and pieces of the novel, but the anime has some serious gay buddy energy (also, avoid the comic adaptation, it’s truly horrendous). It’s also just good in general (and surprisingly respect of the single black character, who is truly a delight), but I’m 99% sure I yelled about this on the newsletter last year too.
Anyway:
Front and back cover studies for the Golden Trick book- we are going with the tile design, interestingly enough! I’m very used to the weirder ideas getting tossed out, so this is a delightful surprise.
Working on thumbnails for the Golden Trick! book. I’m very partial to the tiles in the first one, but we’ll see how things go!
Whipped up a little promo image for Iris and mine’s newest Slipshine project! The first ten pages were sent off, and we’re just waiting for them to start posting.
In fun news, though: I’ll actually get the ability to post the pages on here! It’ll be on a several week delay and there won’t be any PDF compilations (there’s gonna be a book collection later, wink wink), but y’all will get to read it regardless! I’m still waiting to have the time to set up a comics viewer on here, so you won’t have to slog through the blog setup here to get your webcomic fix. Iris will be posting her scripts and writing notes over on her patreon, which I high recommend everyone check out as well.
I’m super excited to have a webcomic I can post on the regular again though. Woo!!
